Why Mondays Suck

Everyone’s had one of those Mondays. You’ve had a fun-filled, relaxing weekend and you just don’t want to switch the alarm off and commit yourself to doing the responsible thing. Or you’ve had a busy-to-the-point-of-overwhelming weekend that’s culminated in the slap in the face that is reality. But your employer insists on you actually being present to collect that salary. And you’re not feeling terribly optimistic about those PowerBall quick-picks you bought yesterday when you stopped to get some beer to help you cope with the process of watching your favorite NFL team go 0-2 for the third season in a row.

Now imagine your job involves staffing your company’s computer help desk. It’s bad enough that I’ve got to be here with my own personal Monday demons. Couple this with the fact that there are 10 other people in the building whose 48 hour absence from work has apparently caused them to completely forget how to do their jobs. And when they can’t do their jobs it’s always convenient to make the beige or black box under their desks the unwitting scape-goat.

It must be a glitch in the system? I don’t think so. God I hate Mondays…
